Inner Wear During Pregnancy

By now you will be observing the changes your body is undergoing, your inner wear does not fit anymore, causes a lot of discomfort. There are days when you are at home you dont feel like wearing them. Thats not good, its very important to take care of your body--during pregnancy, nuring time & immediately after you stop nursing.


During Pregnancy,

a) Panties
Your skin stretches a lot in the abdominal area to accomodate the growing baby & the panty you wear has started to become tighter & does not cover properly. In fact a tight panty can also give you a low back pain. If you are a high waist or hipster person please buy maternity panties which will stretch as you are growing. In case you are a bikini panties, chances are you may not need to change them as they do not cause you any discomfort.

Maternity panties are available in cottons & blended fabric. Always pick up what you are going to be comfortable in, a regular bigger size panty will also do fine if you feel discomfort in the maternity ones. Season & where you stay like in hot & humid, or cold & hot & dry weather also matters in deciding on the fabric of the panty. Cotton is always recommended by almost all doctors.

b)Bras
Your upper body too grows & you find your bra becoming tighter. You may still need the same belt size but a bigger cup fit, or you need a bigger size in belt & cup altogether. Once you start feeling uncomfortable at the earliest do buy your lingerie. Also take a trial before you purchase. Important points to note while trying--unlike regular, in maternity bras when you are buying, you should be able to comfortably put in the last hook thats the tightest one so that as you grow you can make it looser. Also cup should be slightly looser to give you cups space to grow, so buy in a fabric which will stretch. In this way what you buy will fit for a longer duration & you will not be buying in very short periods, but most importantly you will be comfortable. Again cottons the stretchable kind is the most preferred & recommended.

Avoid a sports bra as its purpose is for wearing during any kind of sporting excerise, during pregnancy it does not give your growing body any kind of support, but tends to give a flattened look & continuous usage may change the cup shape. For doing yoga or lamaze you can wear them as its for a shorter span of time.

Always remember you must change your inner wear as soon as discomfort starts, as this will keep you comfortable & happy.
